53 degrees design was asked to design a backdrop for the eircom Golden Spider Awards that reflected and celebrated the high achievement in digital creativity and innovation online. Each year The Golden Spiders recognise and reward brands, organisations, agencies and individuals who truly innovate, embrace new technologies and exceed expectations in the online environment. The style of the backdrop was based on the trophy and print media that were existing. We used a lot of layering of materials (MDF, Rosco and Macrolon) to achieve this layered effect. 

The awards ceremony was held in the Burlington Hotel, Dublin.
