The backdrop for this awards ceremony was based around a 60's pop art theme. The use of strong geometric shapes and primary colours was carried from the promotional literature through to the overall design of the set. 53° design supplied 4 Rosco® screens which were backprojected with VL3500 projectors. A separate screen was used for Powerpoint presentations, showing the category entries nominated for an award. The left hand side of the lectern comprised of a PVC graphic in front of which stood an aluminium lectern. The backdrop was 17m (w) x 3m(d) x 4m (h) approx. It was built on a modular stage 17m wide x 3m deep. The awards ceremony was held in The Round Room at The Mansion House, Dublin. The Irish Direct Marketing Awards (IDMAs) are run and commissioned by An Post.
